Hunt Joint Master Sir Malcolm Stokes-Station is reported to have said at the time, "The hounds are not hunting squirrel as such, but they are flushing for the domestic cat, which in turn will hunt the rat, which in turn will hunt for the squirrel. It is one of the ways we are testing the new legislation."
